EVV State Models

As the deadline for the implementation of EVV software approaches, take a look at each state's EVV model and provider below.

In 2016, the 21st Century Cures Act was signed into law in the US. Are you up to date on what your state is doing to implement EVV? In the table below, you can look up your state and find out which model and provider they are using for EVV

There are currently five types of EVV state models being used.

Open VendorThe state selects an EVV vendor and data aggregator. Providers can use a state-sponsored vendor free of charge, or work with another EVV vendor at their own expense. Alternative EVV vendors must integrate with the state’s data aggregator.

State Mandated External VendorProviders must use the state-sponsored, state-funded vendor.

State Mandated In-House SystemState’s build their own EVV system, which all providers must use/integrate with.

Provider Choice: Providers select and pay for their own vendors.

MCO Choice: Managed Care Organizations select the vendor and cover the costs.

Why Contractor Scheduling Breaks (and How to Fix It)

Most companies treat contractor scheduling like an afterthought, an extension of employee shift planning, with a few tweaks. But this approach ignores everything that makes independent contractors independent. They don’t work for you. They work with you. And yet, you still rely on them to show up on time, fully prepared, qualified, and accountable, often with little formal onboarding, limited oversight, and no second chances. If you're still assigning shifts to contractors the way you assign them to staff, you're not just risking no-shows. You're risking lawsuits, service failures, and systemic inefficiencies that you may not even see. Contractor scheduling isn’t a logistical function. It’s a structural challenge. And solving it requires a complete rethinking of how trust, time, and responsibility flow in your organization.
