Chat vs. Chat Premium: What’s the Difference?

Celayix Chat will be released starting September 23rd 2025. Customers will have the opportunity to try Chat Premium for free until October 31st, 2025. Access to Chat Premium requires customers to request that it be turned on for their account.

We’re releasing chat functionality in two tiers: Celayix Chat and Celayix Chat Premium. Both are designed to meet different levels of communication needs, depending on your team size and complexity.

Celayix Chat

  • Available for customers starting September 23rd, 2025.

  • Supports one-on-one conversations only.

  • Push notifications alert employees when they receive a message.

  • Read receipts show when a message has been seen by the recipient.

Celayix Chat Premium

  • Celayix Chat Premium - Group ChatsAvailable to try for free until October 31st, 2025.
  • Includes all features of basic Chat plus:

    • Group chat: Create conversations with multiple employees or managers.

    • Schedule-based group chat: Select shifts in the schedule and click a button to automatically create a group with the employees assigned to those shifts.

  • Flexible chat visibility: Public chats (all participants see replies) or private chats (only managers see replies).

This clear separation ensures that customers understand the difference in functionality and how to access each option.


Why Not Just Use WhatsApp or SMS?

It’s a fair question. But the reality is that shift-based teams face challenges those tools were never designed to handle.

  • Speed and context: With WhatsApp, you need to manually create groups and add contacts. With Celayix, you simply select shifts or employees and start typing.
